Full Text Paper: Two-Step Submission Process

Step 1 — Abstract Submission

Authors are kindly invited first to submit an abstract (200-300 words) for each full text paper in English as per the above important dates schedule via our online submission form (see the ICSHGE18 | AUTHOR SUBMISSION FORM button below or click on SUBMIT located on the top pull-down menu of the website). All submissions will be thoroughly reviewed and, if accepted, should continue with Step 2 — Camera Ready Full Text Paper Submission.

Step 2 — Camera Ready Full Text Paper Submission

For authors that receive an acceptance invitation, to attend the Conference, download and submit a camera ready full text paper using the TEMPLATE file format. Full text papers will undergo a double blind peer review process and be evaluated based on originality, technical and research content of depth, correctness, relevance to the conference, contribution and readability. Full text paper submissions will be chosen based on technical merit, interest, applicability and how well they fit a coherent and balanced technical programme. The accepted full text papers will be published in the refereed conference proceedings and maybe considered for publication in a number of conference associated special issue international journals — for further information on special issues see Publication and Indexing. Authors are to submit camera ready full text papers – including results, tables, figures and references – using only the TEMPLATE file in [.docx] format via our online submission form (see the ICSHGE18 | AUTHOR SUBMISSION FORM button below or click on SUBMIT located on the top pull-down menu of the website). Please ensure all full text papers are proofread and checked for accuracy prior to submission. Changes cannot be made during the review process. If accepted, minor revisions may be made prior to final publishing.

Poster Presentation: Two-Step Submission Process

Background: Poster Presentation

Authors present their papers using a visual medium with key excerpts from the papers displayed on approximately 1.5 metre high x 2.5 metre wide free-standing bulletin board. Poster presentations should incorporate illustrative materials such as tables, graphs, photographs and large-print text, and materials should be clearly readable from a distance of about one metre (primary text font should be 20 points or larger, and headings font at least 30 points). Posters are assigned a session number and bulletin board number and are organised by keyword when possible. No audio visual equipment can be used. When possible, the poster title should indicate the important result. Like all other presentations, poster presentations should represent completed work. Posters that discuss new scientific findings are especially encouraged. First-time submitters also are encouraged to seek feedback from professors or other mentors who are able to provide guidance regarding their presentation.

Step 1 — Abstract Submission

Draft posters will be requested after acceptance of the Camera Ready Poster Paper. All submissions will be reviewed by an international panel of experts. The Draft Poster Submission is to be in [.pdf] file format and submitted via our online submission form (see the ICSHGE18 | AUTHOR SUBMISSION FORM button below or click on SUBMIT located on the top pull-down menu of the website). Draft Posters are to be submitted by 21 November 2018 (one week prior to the Conference).

Step-by-Step Guideline for Attending ICSHGE18

The Submission and Acceptance Process to the Conference uses the ICSHGE18 | AUTHOR SUBMISSION FORM (see button below). Authors are to submit all their Abstracts, Full Text Papers and Poster Presentations internally using this form, noting Important Dates. A step-by-step guideline for attending ICSHGE18 is as follows:

Step 1. Abstract Submission

Using our online submission form, submit an abstract for either a Full Text Paper or Poster Presentation. You will automatically receive a confirmation email which means we have received your abstract.

Step 2. Acceptance Notification

We will review your abstract and if it is suitable for the Conference you will receive a PDF formatted invitation from the ICSHGE18 Committee to attend.

Step 3. Author Registration

Register for the Conference using the ICSHGE18 | REGISTRATION FORM. This is the only method for attending the Conference. Non-authors, listeners and attendees can register at any time.

Step 4. Camera Ready Submission

Using our online submission form, submit a camera ready Full Text Paper or Poster Presentation (Note: Full Text Papers at this step can also select a Special Issue preference). You will automatically receive a confirmation email which means we have received your work.

Step 5. ICSHGE18

· Originality: the paper, poster or demonstration proposal explores a new idea, project or issue; discusses existing research with promise of new insight, discusses new research; or presents new ways of considering existing information

· Engagement: presentation format will involve the audience in some way, or has high potential to attract conference attendees by addressing needs of the community

· Significance: the paper, poster or demonstration proposal raises and discusses issues important to improving the effectiveness and/or sustainability of open education efforts, and its contents can be broadly disseminated and understood

· Quality: claims are supported by sufficient data; claims draw upon relevant literature; and limitations are described honestly

Special Issue Journals in Conjunctive Agreement with ICSHGE18

The ICSHGE18 conference has established a number of publishing opportunities to compliment the Conference's full text papers' research and publication output. The special issue journals have been established in conjunctive agreement for authors to publish their work in highly respected scientific journals. As their are a number of publication options, authors interested in extending their work, for publication in one of the special issue journals, should indicate their preference when submitting their full text paper at the "Camera Ready Full Text Paper Submission" stage. Your preference will be taken into consideration but will not guarantee selection.

After the "Camera Ready Full Text Paper Submission" ICSHGE18 deadline of 19 October 2018, we will begin an ongoing internal review, authors of selected full text papers will be contacted and invited to submit extended camera ready full text paper versions of their papers and, if required, pay the necessary publication fees in accordance to the journal's publishing requirements. Details for each special issue journal can be found below along with its website link. At the latest, authors can expect to receive notification if they have been selected for a special issue by 07 December 2018, five days after the close of the Conference. We will, however, be contacting authors as soon as a decision on their paper has be made to offer more time for paper preparation. If their are any questions regarding publication matters please feel free to email us at icshge@polocentre.org.
