Full Text Paper: Two-Step Submission Process

Step 1 — Abstract Submission

Authors are kindly invited first to submit an abstract (200-300 words) for each full text paper in English as per the above important dates schedule via our online submission form (see the ICSHGE18 | AUTHOR SUBMISSION FORM button below or click on SUBMIT located on the top pull-down menu of the website). All submissions will be thoroughly reviewed and, if accepted, should continue with Step 2 — Camera Ready Full Text Paper Submission.

Step 2 — Camera Ready Full Text Paper Submission

For authors that receive an acceptance email, to attend the conference, download and submit a camera ready full text paper using the TEMPLATE file format. Full text papers will undergo a double blind peer review process and be evaluated based on originality, technical and research content of depth, correctness, relevance to the conference, contribution and readability. Full text paper submissions will be chosen based on technical merit, interest, applicability and how well they fit a coherent and balanced technical programme. The accepted full text papers will be published in the refereed conference proceedings and maybe considered for publication in a number of conference associated special issue international journals — for further information on special issues see Publication and Indexing. Authors are to submit camera ready full text papers – including results, tables, figures and references – using only the TEMPLATE file in [.docx] format via our online submission form (see the ICSHGE18 | AUTHOR SUBMISSION FORM button below or click on SUBMIT located on the top pull-down menu of the website). Please ensure all full text papers are proofread and checked for accuracy prior to submission. Changes cannot be made during the review process. If accepted, minor revisions may be made prior to final publishing.

Call for Posters

Call for Posters

Poster Presentation: Three-Step Submission Process

Background: Poster Presentation

Authors present their papers using a visual medium with key excerpts from the papers displayed on approximately 1.5 metre high x 2.5 metre wide free-standing bulletin board. Poster presentations should incorporate illustrative materials such as tables, graphs, photographs and large-print text, and materials should be clearly readable from a distance of about one metre (primary text font should be 20 points or larger, and headings font at least 30 points). Posters are assigned a session number and bulletin board number and are organised by keyword when possible. No audio visual equipment can be used. When possible, the poster title should indicate the important result. Like all other presentations, poster presentations should represent completed work. Posters that discuss new scientific findings are especially encouraged. First-time submitters also are encouraged to seek feedback from professors or other mentors who are able to provide guidance regarding their presentation.

Step 1 — Abstract Submission

Step 3 — Draft Poster Submission

Draft posters will be requested after acceptance of the Camera Ready Poster Paper. All submissions will be reviewed by an international panel of experts. The Draft Poster Submission is to be in [.pdf] file format and submitted via our online submission form (see the ICSHGE18 | AUTHOR SUBMISSION FORM button below or click on SUBMIT located on the top pull-down menu of the website).

Call for Demonstration Proposals

Call for Demonstration Proposals

Demonstration Proposal Presentation: Two-Step Submission Process

Background: Demonstration Proposal Presentation

Integrative to the special workshop sessions throughout all of the first day, and complementary to the main themes and supporting tracks of the conference, demonstrations are also an important part of the technical programme. Demonstrations allow practitioners, the scientific community and industry to practically showcase working systems, innovative applications, ground breaking ideas and novel concepts in sustainability, human geography, environment and interdisciplinary societal studies. Demonstrations are an interactive way of obtaining detailed and valuable feedback from conference attendees and an excellent way to present new research directions to the research community.

Step 1 — Abstract Submission

· Title of the demonstration

· Authors’ names, affiliation and contact information

· Abstract (150-300 words)

· Aim and scope of the demonstration

· Setup of the demonstration

· Main features to be demonstrated

· Requirements (e.g. power, internet)

Demonstration proposals submitted to ICSHGE18 will be evaluated on a rolling basis according to significance and relevance to the technical programme, themes and supporting tracks. Accepted demonstration proposals will only have their abstract published in the conference proceedings, and will be listed as part of the conference programme.

Submission Guidelines

Submission Guidelines

Call for Papers, Posters and Demonstration Proposals first require an abstract submission in English as per the above important dates schedule via our online submission form (see the ICSHGE18 | AUTHOR SUBMISSION FORM button below or click on SUBMIT located on the top pull-down menu of the website). All submissions will be thoroughly reviewed and, if accepted, should continue with the following step(s) to complete their camera ready submission.

Review Process

Review Process

The review process will be double blind. Each paper, poster or demonstration proposal will be reviewed by at least two committee members. The acceptance decisions will take into account paper novelty, technical depth, elegance, practical or theoretic impact and presentation. Aspects taken into consideration:

· Originality: the paper, poster or demonstration proposal explores a new idea, project or issue; discusses existing research with promise of new insight, discusses new research; or presents new ways of considering existing information

· Engagement: presentation format will involve the audience in some way, or has high potential to attract conference attendees by addressing needs of the community

· Significance: the paper, poster or demonstration proposal raises and discusses issues important to improving the effectiveness and/or sustainability of open education efforts, and its contents can be broadly disseminated and understood

· Quality: claims are supported by sufficient data; claims draw upon relevant literature; and limitations are described honestly

· Relevance: the paper, poster or demonstration proposal addresses one or more of the themes of the conference

Special Issues and Journals in Conjunctive Agreement with ICSHGE18

The ICSHGE18 conference has established a number of publishing opportunities to compliment the Conference's full text papers' research and publication output. Their are a number of special issues and individual one-to-one journals that we have established conjunctive agreements for authors to publish their work. As their are a number of publication options, authors interested in extending their work, for publication in one of the special issues or journals, should indicate their preference when submitting their full text paper at the "Camera Ready Full Text Paper Submission" stage. Your preference will be taken into consideration but will not guarantee selection.

After the "Camera Ready Full Text Paper Submission" ICSHGE18 deadline of 19 October 2018, we will begin an ongoing internal review, authors of selected full text papers will be contacted and invited to submit extended camera ready full text paper versions of their papers and, if required, pay the necessary publication fees in accordance to the journal's publishing requirements. Details for each special issue and journal can be found below along with its website link and associated fees. At the latest, authors can expect to receive notification if they have been selected for a special issue by 10 December 2018, one week after the Conference. We will, however, be contacting authors as soon as a decision on their paper has be made to offer more time for paper preparation. If their are any questions regarding publication matters please feel free to email us at icshge@polocentre.org.

The International Journal of Sustainability Science and Studies primes at the examination of the ability or  capacity to endure all life on Earth. In a human sense, it is the potential for long term enhancement in well-being, which in turn depends on the well-being of the natural world and the responsible usage of natural resources. As the population of human beings increases, natural ecosystems have declined and changes in the balance of natural cycles have had an off-putting impact on humans and other living orders. The Journal encourages research developments in all areas of sustainability science and studies. The scope of the Journal encompasses agriculture, atmosphere, biodiversity, biotechnology, capacity-building, climate change, consumption and production patterns, demographics, desertification and drought, disaster reduction and management, education and awareness, energy, forests, human settlements, indicators, integrated decision making, land management, poverty, sanitation, sustainable tourism, trade and environment, transport, waste management and water.  Some other aspects may include ecologically-oriented villages, sustainable cities, green technologies, sustainable architecture, renewable energy, and individual lifestyles changes.
